School Recess are being cut back shoter than what they were when I was in school. Recess was at least 30 mintues, now recess is only 15 to 20 mintues long. As growing children, they need to express them selves other than in the class room, and also give their growing brains a chance to relax from all the school work that they are being tought in school. Personally I feel that recess should go back to 30 mintues long just as long as a normal class. Childrens attention spans aren't very long when it comes to certain situations, but if they are givin at least a good 30 mins to relax and be free from school work, im sure they will be better when it comes to focusing on school work. Everyone remembers that time of the day when they were waiting on recess to come along, & im sure those times haven't changed either. I wish they still did recess now that I am in college. plus there are so many learing and fun brain challenging activitys to do while being outside. Such as doing simple math such as counting how many more yellow flowers are there than pruple flowers, even grammer lessons that could be preformed on  the side walk. Recess can have so many options either it can be a time to get out and play & execrise that inner child or even a different & more fun learning experience. Math, science, spelling all these things can still be possible outside of the classroom. Recess is both fun & a learning exeperience. It's just how wise you are when it comes to spending those free 30 mintues.
